Nurturing Paradigm Shifts

In December 2001 CLASE was given a contract by the Federal Government of Australia to deliver the COMET program in the State of Western Australia (WA).

What is COMET?
The Commercializing Emerging Technologies Program, better known as COMET, is a competitive, merit based assistance program delivered by private sector companies contracted by the Commonwealth Government of Australia's Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR).

The program was started in November 1999 with the premise of assisting early-stage ventures in various Industry Sectors to commercialise their innovative products, processes and services. It is a national program that has Supported Over 2000 Companies across Australia. The program is formed on the principle of backing Australia's Ability and creating globally competitive Australian organizations.

Further Information/ Application Process
Should you wish to check further details on the program or the process of eligibility and the like you can get these on the DIISR website at www.innovation.gov.au.

Each application for COMET assistance has to be accompanied by a Recommendation Report from the program business adviser and since CLASE has the contract for the delivery of the program in WA it is suggested that you contact our office preferably by email or alternatively by telephone to obtain a copy of the due diligence questionnaire which forms the basis of COMET assessments and our recommendation for assistance to a new COMET company.

Should you wish to just find out general information on the program and its suitability to your needs you can call the program's hotline number 13 28 46.

If you do fit within those guidelines or funding eligibility support criteria we confirm that we CANNOT invest or work with you in any private capacity and as such ask you to not contact us till the above has been satisfied.
